Storage & Wardrobes in Bhopal

Sliding and hinged wardrobes, bookshelves, crockery units and built-in storage for tight spaces.

Storage is where building to measure pays for itself most obviously. A standard wardrobe in a non-standard recess leaves a gap at one side and a dust trap on top — and older Bhopal homes rarely offer a standard recess. Built to the opening, the same wall holds noticeably more.

Choosing storage & wardrobes

What we check before quoting, and what is worth deciding before you order.

Sliding or hinged, decided by the room

Hinged doors open the full width so you see everything at once, but need roughly 60 cm of clear swing. Sliding shutters need no swing space at all, at the cost of reaching only half the wardrobe at a time.

Plan the inside before the outside

Count what actually hangs full length, what hangs short, what is folded and what is luggage. Those four numbers decide the internal layout. Picking the shutter finish first is how wardrobes end up with the wrong rails.

Go to the ceiling

A wardrobe that stops short leaves a gap that gathers dust and cannot be cleaned easily. Taking it to the ceiling turns that dead band into a loft section for suitcases and bedding.

Place the mirror deliberately

A mirrored shutter saves buying a separate dressing mirror and makes a narrow room feel wider — but it has to face somewhere you can stand back from, which is not always the obvious shutter.

Materials we use

What each one is good at, so the choice is yours rather than ours.

Plywood carcass
Carries hanging weight and holds its shape. This matters more in storage than anywhere else in the house.
Laminate, mirror or lacquered glass shutters
Laminate is hardest wearing, mirror earns its place in small rooms, lacquered glass gives colour with a wipe-clean surface.
Aluminium sliding track
A good track is the difference between a shutter that glides for years and one that drags within months.
Soft-close hinges and runners
The parts you operate several times a day, and the usual first failure point in low-cost storage.

Questions about storage & wardrobes

Should I choose a sliding or a hinged wardrobe?

If there is 60 cm or more of clear floor in front, hinged doors are usually better — you see the whole interior at once and they cost less. Where a bed or a door is in the way, sliding shutters are the only sensible answer.

Can you build around an awkward recess or a beam?

Yes, and that is the main reason to build rather than buy. We measure the opening, including any beam, pipe or skirting, and build to it so there is no gap at the side or dust shelf on top.

Can the wardrobe be moved if I shift house?

A built-in wardrobe is fixed and stays with the property. If you expect to move, say so at the start and we build free-standing modular runs instead — slightly less efficient with space, but they come with you.

  • Measured to your room

We look at the actual space first, so the piece fits alcoves and walls that are not quite square.

  • Made in our own workshop

Built by our own team in Maharana Pratap Nagar (MP Nagar), not ordered in from a catalogue.

  • We repair what we make

Sagging cushions and broken frames are repairs, not replacements — and we restore older furniture too.
